About the Company
Edwards de Lancey Financial Ltd was formed in 1992. We believe our strength lies in our independence - we are not part of any group or network - and we are dedicated to giving our clients professional, friendly advice. We have established an excellent reputation and are proud to be able to say that we have lost very few customers over the years - which surely means we must be doing something right!
Martin de Lancey
Martin joined Shell International on his graduation from Birmingham University in 1977. Eight years later he accepted the position of Finance Director of an engineering company in Wurzburg, West Germany where he worked for 4 years.
On his return to the UK, Martin entered the financial services industry, establishing Edwards de Lancey Financial with Tim Edwards in May 1992. Martin is AFPC qualified and is a Member of the Society of Financial Advisers.
Martin is married with two boys, and, is a life long Bristol City supporter! His hobbies are predominantly sport related, especially golf, cricket, football and skiing. His ambition is to watch a 5 day test match in Australia in glorious conditions with England winning a high scoring match with an over to spare. Dream on!
Tim Edwards
Having spent time travelling the world looking for inspiration, Tim decided in 1988 that the UK was as good a place as any to develop a career and to settle down. There are beautiful places in the world but England is home for him with the exception of a small holiday home in Normandy, France.
Following four interesting introductory years in Financial Services, Tim decided there was only one way to go and along with Martin created Edwards de Lancey Financial. 1992 was not the easiest time to start a business as the UK economy was rather unsettled and Financial Services were coming under attack. In Tim’s opinion, this has given him a very sound base and during these good years helps him keep his feet firmly on the ground.
Tim is married to Sue and has a nine year old daughter, Georgia. His main hobby is Jung Do. This is a refined Martial Art and is extremely popular around the world, the main UK centres being Bristol.
Second to this are the annual skiing trips. Tims' favourite resort is Chatel, Portes du Soleil. Tim's ambition is to spend 6 months in France skiing or in the south on a yacht and the other six months enjoying the English Spring and Summer. He might have to wait a few years yet though!!
